Wedding

Long post later, just wanted to tell everyone that Marge (the bakery owner)'s daughter got married this past Saturday! It was a lovely wedding with tons of cake and pictures wwill shortly be forthcoming.

BIG NEWS, BUDDIES.

Yesterday morning, while you were shuttling off to work or desperately trying to recapture that dream with the Gila monsters and a surfboard, our humble bakery was visited by TEH JAY LENO SHOOOOOOW. Yes, that Jay Leno show. The national one and stuff.

D.L. Hughley came in with cameramen, lighting people, entourage, and all that shiz. Did a great interview with out darling manager Monique and one of our smashing decorators, Maris. Bought TONS of stuff. Breads, cupcakes, cookies, and some fun things we'd made for them...


Why yes, this is our Cali Wildfire cake. With a teensy Al Roker reporting.

Hi folks! Welcome to Just Cakes. We are a small (adorable) bakery in Bethesda, MD. My manager of course wants me to add "convenient to DC, and the MD/VA suburbs!" which, of course, we are.

So why am I blogging? I think we have a unique perspective on the world of food culture. All our cakes are full-fat-full-deliciousness, made with the freshest ingrediants, hand decorated, and lovingly finished. We aim to promote the judicious and whole-hearted enjoyment of quality baked things.

Also, we're just a bunch of nifty folks who love what we do. And fun things happen to us. :D
